The Monks of Drepung

Lhasa, Tibet, China

The monks of the Drepung monastery gather every day to study the holy scriptures of Tibetan Buddhism. The study got very intense with loud arguments happening throughout the room. In this room alone, there were probably 300 monks--all working by the natural light coming through the ancient windows.

Mosadi and Makoros

Okavango Delta, Botswana

The Okavango Delta in Botswana is the largest inland delta in the world. Batswana (people in Botswana) usually navigate through the Delta in makoros, a type of canoe made by digging out the trunk of a large straight tree, such as an ebony tree or Kigelia tree. The picture captured the image of a woman (mosadi in Setswana) standing near her family's makoros in the delta.

Dead Vlei

Namib Desert, Namibia

While on a week-long road trip through Namibia, my friends and I were able to persuade some German tourists into taking us to Sossussvlei, an area within the Namib desert known for its spectacular sand dunes and harsh landscape. This particular place is Dead Vlei, a low lying lake bed filled with skeletons of 500 year old trees.

Timeless

Washington, DC

While the United States of America is a constantly changing organism, its message is timeless. Its metaphorical monuments and indeed people, have a nature lost to time completely.

Never Forget

College Green

It has been six years. It has been a shock to the US and to all human beings. It has been creating questions about our safety and our serenity. Was it over or not? No matter. But years after years we never forget to pay tribute to those heroes, and teach our children the date that changed America

Center City at Sunset

Philadelphia City Hall

This picture was taken during a beautiful sunset at the Philapdelphia City Center. You can see the architectural contrast of classic and modern styles. Also, watching the picture is very relaxing.
